Continuing dialogue with Micah Sifry: Hope, health, activism and results
As vindictive as it might sound, I would like to see public crucifixions for what those guys did to the thousands of American workers who lost everything because of Enron's shady accounting and profit manipulations.
The only guy that really got away was Lu Pai...he made of with about a quarter billion dollars and a clean slate. I guess there's not much that can be done about that, but it's nice to see that there is some form of justice in America, after all.
Thank you Jury. Thank you American Spirit; the spirit that refuses to let eggregious sins go unpunished. Sentencing is set for September 11th. I'll be waiting with baited breath for that day. I just hope that some nonsensical diversion does not happen around that time that prevents them from getting their just deserts!
Here is an interesting tidbit about Sept. 11. We all know about 9/11/01, but there is something that hasn't been talked about much. That day, before the WTC attacks, the cover story on the New York Times was about how Dr. Henry 'Strangelove' Kissinger was being indicted on war crimes for his involvement in three specific activities: his unilateral prolonging of the Vietnam War in order to force Detente` on China, his giving Indonesia the go ahead to invade and slaughter 300,000 plus in E. Timor under Ford, and his involvement in overthrowing democratically elected Chilean president Salvador Allende on behalf of dictator and bad-guy General Augusto Pinochet. And, what happened to Dr. Kissinger? Nothing. Why? The media was distracted with other things. I just hope that doesn't happen again!
Thanks,
Sean
Any irony in the sentencing date? 9/11/2006...
If you haven't watched it (and I'm sure you have), get the movie "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room"....
The music is great; the message even better.
