    I think your son is fortunate to have such a smart, savvy parent as you. And sometimes, as parents, we do have to be hypocrites (you know, "do as I say, not as I do") because we are the adults and they are the kids and are not fully formed yet.

    Thanks, Donna! The good side of all of this is that he's at least relieved to know that his mom knows he's not doing anything 'naughty', which was making him angry -- he felt like we were making judgements without facts.

    See, this is where I am often puzzled about community and children who have grown up in the glare of online community. It strikes me as that place where I hit the do as I say not as I do point.

    tw, it is absolutely the "do as I say not as I do" point. Except that I do have the sense to interact with other humans face to face, which is the part he's forgetting. ;-)
