Memo to Elton Gallegly: We’re gasping on the beach
What is wrong with you people. I remember when i used to fix my car and get my rearend kicked every time i needed to repair my car.
all credit cars have fraud protection! how do you expect to pay for the policy if you don't give them your credit card.the reason you need to make your decision is so you can get the best coverage at the lowest possible price the older the car gets and more miles you put on it the more expensive the less coverage you get.
Is it possible to reach a unhelpful person that is having a bad day yes it is ask to speak to a manager, and get the help you need.or hang up and get another representative. In the end there is no scam they are a real company offering a real service that most people really need. Don't pay any attention to any of these people they donot have a clue about what they are talking about I DO.
These things are scams, plain and simple.
How can this company, especially since it is supposed to offer extended warranties, be legit when they do not even come out and inspect the cars. Suppose I had a 2001 Honda with 100,000 miles on it that has a busted engine. I call this company, buy a policy then wait a couple days or weeks and make a claim to get it repaired. Now do you really think they are going to cover it? I don't think so.
Let's also consider the fact that this company will call you constantly and when you ask to be removed from their calling list they will continue to call you. This is even after your name is on the National Do Not Call list. That's illegal. Unless you have business with this company, they have no right to try and solicit you over the phone.
You sound just like your an actual employee for this company, which is pretty sad.
I encourage everyone to watch this video on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBIm40Nb-tc&feat...
If the link doesn't work go to Youtube and type in Extended Auto Warranty Scam Part 1. It actually sounds as though the above poster was the salesman in this call.
I stumbled upon your blog via google, and I have to say it was very informative. I just wish I could have stumbled upon it sooner. I saw an advertisement for stoprepairbills.com on the television, and decided to inquire about the company. I just wanted initial information. The salesperson kept harassing me to get the policy. He wanted my credit card information or savings account number, which was odd to me. After I asked him about sending me some preliminary information, for free, he said that it was impossible. He was just working at a call center. After a time I told him I couldn't afford payments at the time, and then he put his floor manager on the line, and then he lowered my initial fee, and the monthly fee. Then after more time, I did give him my address and name, but nothing else. After hanging up on him (only way to end the call), I called my local police, and they told me to check the free credit report companies because a lot of times these companies will use that info to still get your information.
Even while I'm typing this to you, I am watching TV, and within just ONE commercial period, I saw three commercials from companies wanting to sell car repair insurance! Unbelievable! What do they do?? Target housewives, and naive college kids at home?!?
I'm so sorry to bother you, but I just wanted to thank you for the post, and wanted to ask you if you had any other advise.
Thanks,
Shar
