The first time I saw real poverty, I lived in Georgia. The second time, I lived in Montana. The third time, Cambodia.
I'm inspired by BlogHers Act because even though I do what I can state-side, it never feels like enough. Never ever. And your headline, "Sister, can you spare a dime?" does a great job of capturing that urge I think so many of us have to make a difference, to save at least one woman's life in a place so remote, so far away, that sometimes it seems only a wish and a prayer (if one is the praying type) could make a difference.
But with BlogHers Act, we are trying to move an entire sprawling community into action. I'm really grateful that you care about this, as someone who has enjoyed your comments on BlogHer.com and here for so long. And thanks to GlobalGiving.com, we actually know that our pennies and dollars will be **on the ground working hard for some woman and her family within 60 days**.
And that is a gift indeed. Thanks for banging the drum... :)
