Memo to Elton Gallegly: We’re gasping on the beach
"There are a lot of options for blog designs and images to choose from, but they are not intended to be tweaked once chosen" this is why i picked blogger. i like its simplicity, no cluttering interface, and i like the ability to tweak the templates as i like . I'm curious what you think about wordpress.
The link is my pleasure! As to Wordpress, I think it's the best blogging/CMS package there is. But it's not easy -- there's a steep, steep learning curve to any tweaking. It's got a geeky interface and installing plugins is not user-friendly. Wordpress.com simplifies this somewhat and is great if you're not one who likes to tinker under the hood, but for sheer power and flexibility, Wordpress straight out of the box rocks. It would be my last choice for Aunt Edna, though.
Jenn:
Yes, I actually do see value in it for more experienced users, mostly for the ability to aggregate so many of the different content services we all use. Vox! is by far the best and easiest I've seen yet for getting photos, videos, books and music all organized in one place according to category or collection. I'm really enjoying the ability to take all my different "internet pieces" and put them together in one big picture on Vox!.
